Mountain Dew Pitch Black 2



To promote the product’s limited availability, we created Mountain Dew Pitch Black 2 aficionado Cliff, who decides to live in the pitch blackness of his boarded up house for 90 days. The website allows users to watch any of Cliff’s six webcams and help him complete daily chores by “feeling around” for various items in the house, which leads to a variety of audio gags like our hero running into heavy furniture and crashing through walls. The challenge of this project was to have a site that not only appeared to operate on its own but at the same time respond to user interaction. This required incorporating over 240 unique tasks and utilized over 1000 audio tracks which were precisely mapped on the web cams according to place and time of day in the house. This allows visitors to the site to get a unique experience no matter how many times they visit the experiment.
